The food and atmosphere remind me of an Irish Pub. I have to confess that I ordered the fish and chips the first time I went there and I have never gotten anything else. They have the best fish and chips around. The fish is perfectly crispy without being oily. The chips, fries, are the perfect cut and thickness to match the succulent fish and absorb the delicious malt vinegar that seeps out of the fish, if you use malt vinegar. I will continue to go back to The Old Bag of Nails and I will continue to get the fabulous fish and chips. As a note, the portions are really large. You can get all you can eat but I cannot ever finish my regular meal. With the regular meal, you can take home your leftovers. They reheat perfectly in the air fryer or oven. With the all you can eat, you cannot take home your leftovers, even if you do not get seconds.

Visiting the establishment on a Monday at 2:30 pm revealed a quiet ambiance. We were seated promptly and ready to order. For an appetizer we opted for the loaded potato skins and I have to say I love me some green onions on the loaded skins. They were cheesy with real bacon and paired with sour cream. Better than roosters in my opinion! For the main I selected the Boom Boom and Garlic Parmesan Boneless Wings. The Boom Boom sauce has earned its place as my top choice sauce from The Old Bag of Nails, and I am eager to order more. We also ordered Garlic Parmesan and Hot traditional wings. Although the Garlic Parmesan tasted mainly of butter, the Hot wings had a moderately spicy sauce. The Boom Boom sauce took precedence in my heart. The kids' meal portion was generous, and the 5-year-old was content with a standard corn dog and apple sauce. I am appreciating this establishment keeping consistent good service and quality food.

If you are local to the Columbus area, you know Old Bag of Nails is a staple around the area. This week was our first visit to the Hilliard location after meeting friends in the area. Five of us stopped in and we asked to sit on a high-top in the bar for a relaxed casual night. Wasn't very crowded so it was an easy start. Our server/bartender Jimmy was awesome! Fun and working hard to help the patrons at the bar and all of us. By the time we left - the entire place was packed ! Jimmy's service and great fun attitude was there all night. Highly recommend the Sibling Revelry Red Ale or an Old Fashion for a good start. Food was super fresh and tasted great. First time for me was the New England Reuben (Reuben with Fish and Coleslaw)n - it was delicious and can't wait to try it again - next time. Served with Steak fries but you have other options. Two of our party had fish and chips and loved it (One of their forte dishes). Everything was great - others had Clam Chowder and a Chicken Quesadilla - and finally their Chicken Tenders. Everyone loved the meal and the atmosphere. Looking forward to coming back when in the area - great food and great service. Thanks Team.

Delicious fish and chips with extra crispy, crunchy and delicious shrimp. Spouse and I split the meal and they served individual baskets which was nice. Great ambiance in a friendly bar/pub feel. Will return next time we are in the area.

Back in Hilliard after the morning at the Dash for Donation in downtown Columbus. Great service from Trinity and amazing food from the kitchen. Our party of 7 was promptly seated and the experience began. Known for their fish I stepped up for the Fish Reuben! What a find! Replace the sauerkraut with coleslaw, cheese and thousand island dressing and there you have it. Everyone else had the fish and chips (a staple here) and no one was disappointed! Flaky fish with either thin or thick fries. And plenty of Malt Vinegar on the table! What a winning combination! If you're in the area make sure you plan a stop here and check them out.

This is the newest Old Bag of Nails and is certainly worth checking out. It's a spacious restaurant with an old-English vibe (unlike some of the others I've been to and my favorite thus far). The food was satisfying, and the service was great. I got the french onion soup and a side salad while my BF ordered the fish and chips. We came on Sunday for lunch, so it all worked out well for us.

Everything hit the spot! Normally we don't venture out to chain restaurants but Old Bag never fails to deliver. My wife was craving a pretzel with cheese and that's how we landed here! I asked for a glass of the Riesling. It's unfortunate this has been the third time I two weeks where I begin to feel impatient waiting on my glass to be served. It's frustrating when I can see the glass sitting on the bar waiting to be served to me, but the waitress is busy tending to other patrons. I sucked it up as soon as I bit into the pretzel though. The overall vibe is a hole in the wall watering hole. Very quaint. Great food. And everybody is friendly. You can tell that this is a local Hilliard favorite given the amount of regulars that were there!

If you're craving some classic pub/bar food this place is the spot. I was hankering for a good pretzel and beer cheese and I got just that. We were greeted immediately upon walking into the restaurant and sat down. Our waitress sadly took about 5 minutes to greet us and about another 5 to bring us waters. The service started off very slow, but she seemed to get in the groove as the meal went on and was very apologetic. Truly, I would ho back for that delicious pretzel alone! But for my main course I got a Cesar salad with blackened chicken and a French onion soup. The Cesar was delicious but honestly I could have done without the soup. My husband got the fish and chips, which they are known for and I can see why. They were so tasty with a perfect fish to breading ratio, and the steak fries were awesome!
